According to Sani, if President

successful dialogue with the

Sani who spoke in an interview
with The Guardian during the
week, insisted that indeed, the
person in question is somebody
also known to the president.

¦ I have repeatedly said that if
President Jonathan can make a
phone call to me today and ask
me of one person who can solve
the problem, I will give him the
name of the person.

And apart
from the person, I dont see the
possibility of any other person
whom the group can trust, the
activist declared.

Sani also indicted some elements
in the Jonathan government
over the failure of past attempts
at dialogue, saying these
persons may have been
sabotaging such efforts either in
the mistaking belief that force
can solve the problem or
because they are deriving some
pecuniary gains from the
situation.

Boko Haram has agreed to a
term of ceasefire, has agreed to
dialogue, but has consistently
been undermined by elements
within the government who
either choose to do so on the
grounds that they believe the
use of force can end the group
or are sabotaging dialogue
because they believe they are
profiting from the system as it
is.

Before now, I used to think that
Boko Haram was completely
opposed to peace or ceasefire,
but in the few occasions that I
have been involved in seeking a
way out of this problem, I have
seen that much of the sabotage
came from the side of the
government, he said
Confirming reports that he
facilitated former President
Obasanjos meeting with the
family of a member of the Boko
Haram sect sometime ago, Sani
insisted that if the Federal
Government showed sincere,
dialogue could sooner than later
end the activities of the militant
sect.

confirmed the tragic event to
Naija Pundit. Our sources
disclosed that the murdered
officials were attacked as they
attended a mass funeral for more
than twenty men, women and
children killed in the area in a
gruesome attack launched by yet
unidentified gunmen yesterday.
The funeral was just concluded
when heavily armed men in
military uniforms descended on
the mourners, shooting at the
senator and other officials at
point blank range.
“It was a horrible sight,” said a
source who witnessed the tragedy.
“People ran helter-skelter as the
gunmen continued to shoot,” he
added.
For the past several years, Plateau
State has been mired in sectarian
bloodshed between armed groups
of Muslims and Christians.
Efforts to get the spokesperson
of the Special Task Force, STF,
Salisu Mustapha, were
unsuccessful, as his telephone
failed to connect.
About 22 people were reportedly
killed in an early morning attack
on some nine villages in the area
Saturday, while a raid by a team
from the STF on some Fulani
settlements reportedly also claimed
about 10 lives.
The late senator was a former
member of the House of
Representatives and two-term
member of the senate.
A medical doctor, the late senator
had his first degree in medicine at
the University of Jos, and a
masters in public health from the
University of Ghana.

Emekuku, Owerri

unexplained death of
nine persons in their
sleep.
When Vanguard visited
the scene at about
8.30am on Sunday,
seven of the dead were
clustered in one room
while the lifeless bodies
of an unidentified
woman and her friend
were found in the
second room.
Vanguard investigations
equally revealed that the
nine dead persons,
including the only son
of the family, Paschal
Njoku, his wife, Juliana
and their five children,
were home to bury
their mother, Felicia
Njoku last Saturday, but
none survived to tell the
story.
Narrating what she
could remember to
Vanguard at the scene
of the ugly incident, the
second daughter of the
family, Kate, gave the
names of the deceased
citizens as Paschal
Njoku, Mrs. Juliana
Njoku, Ebere Njoku,
Jackline Njoku, Ifunanya
Njoku, Uchechi Njoku
and Chy-boy Njoku.
While saying that Mrs.
Christiana Uba and one
of her unidentified
friends that
accompanied her to the
funeral, died in the
incident, Kate also
lamented that villagers
only woke up Sunday
to behold a morbid
spectacle.
Speaking also, an inlaw
to the Njokus, Mr.
Ogbonna Awuzie,
recalled with grief that
Paschal and members
of his family went on
self exile to Owerri
because of what he
termed "the persistent
threat to their lives by
one of their
relations" (names
withheld).
"Paschal and members
of his family were given
sanctuary in Umuodu,
Owerri, in the past one
year due to serious
threat to his life and
property. He only went
home to bury his
mother last Saturday
and by Sunday
morning we were told
that they all died in very
mysterious
circumstances", Awuzie
recounted with grief.
The Commissioner for
Health, Dr. Joe Obi-
Njoku, who spoke to
Vanguard at the scene,
described the incident as
"a huge loss and indeed
a calamity but I have
advised that a post
mortem examination be
carried out to ascertain
the cause of death".
The situation however
became fully charged
when a truck load of
youths from yet to be
identifies town stormed
the rural village, started
shooting into the air and
smashed the
windscreens of cars
parked at the scene.
Some of the
sympathizers lost
valuable personal effects
in their bid to scamper
into safety, while the
policemen and Emekuku
youths regrouped to
match force with force.
As at the time of going
to press, one boy from
the camp of the
invading youths was
captured, beaten
mercilessly and was
being interrogated with
a view to ascertaining
who their sponsor was.
Meanwhile, the remains
of the dead were still
lying in the rooms at
about 11.30am when

Russia Floods: Death Toll Rises to 150

KRYMSK, Russia (AFP) – Russia on Sunday scrambled to deal with the aftermath of devastating flash floods that killed at least 150 people and swept away homes in the southern Krasnodar region’s worst natural disaster in history.
Russian President Vladimir Putin personally inspected the worst-hit areas Saturday evening, the first major disaster since he came back to the Kremlin for a third term in May.
Putin compared the force of the water, which trapped people in their homes at night, ripped up pavements and traffic lights and flooded rail tracks, to a “tsunami”.
He also quickly moved to address panicky speculation that the deluge was caused by an emergency opening of floodgates at a local reservoir, with the Kremlin issuing a statement that Putin had been told it was not the cause of the flooding.
At least 150 people died in the disaster, including in the port of Novorossiisk and the popular Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik where five were electrocuted, a regional police spokeswoman in the city of Krasnodar told AFP.
The worst hit area was a district around Krymsk, a town of 57,000 where rescue teams have found 139 bodies including those of a one-year-old toddler and a 10-year-old child. Most of the victims were pensioners, many caught by the floods in their sleep.
Krymsk is about 200 kilometres (120 miles) northwest of the Black Sea resort of Sochi where Russia will host the 2014 Summer Olympic Games.
Flash floods frequently batter towns along the picturesque Black Sea coast during seasonal rains in the Caucasus mountains, but authorities say the current disaster is unprecedented.
Officials have been unable to explain the massive death toll, saying only the floods were caused by torrential rains and caught many people unawares.
The force of the water was so ferocious that many residents said they suspected the floods were a man-made disaster caused by a release of water at a local reservoir on the Naberdzhai River.
In a bid to address persistent concerns, Putin, wearing a black shirt, was shown on television grilling officials about whether an emergency release of water was possible at the Naberdzhai reservoir.
“Where did the water come from?” Putin asked government officials in televised remarks.
Krasnodar Governor Alexander Tkachev swiftly replied: “It was raining.”
Investigators however acknowledged Sunday that repeated releases of water did happen but it remained unclear whether it might have contributed to the disaster.
“Over the course of 13 hours portioned releases of water were repeatedly conducted in an automated mode,” spokesman for regional investigators Ivan Sengerov said in televised remarks.
“But there were not some large-scale water releases. We will have yet to establish how much they could have affected the development of events. It is too early to say whether this (the floods) was the consequence of these releases.”
Tkachev had earlier called on people to stop spreading “stupid rumours,” saying on Twitter that the region received five months’ worth of rain.
But some residents said they had no trust in the officials, accusing them of a cover-up.
“It always rains here but we’ve never had this before. A seven-metre tall wave crushed everything,” Irina Morgunova told AFP in Krymsk. “That is not rain. But no-one will ever say it out loud.”
Putin said survivors would get new homes while families of victims would receive two million rubles ($60,800) each.
“The Krasnodar region is experiencing the most difficult and the most devastating floods in its history,” the regional administration said, adding that the region would observe a day of mourning on Monday.
Krymsk residents complained Sunday that they have been left to their own devices and authorities offered no help.
“It’s a catastrophe,” said Viktor Voloshin, who arrived in the flood-ravaged town earlier Sunday to help relatives whose house was damaged.
“People need drinking water but there is no drinking water being distributed,” he told AFP.
He also said that people were afraid of leaving their houses for fear of looting even if their homes were destroyed.
“We have 30-degree weather now, diseases will begin,” he added.
Pensioner Lidia Polinina said her elderly neighbour had died after becoming trapped by the flood waters.
“She was paralysed. She couldn’t get out of the house,” she told AFP.
Nearly 29,000 people remained without power across the region, the emergencies ministry said earlier on Sunday.

Police On The Hunt For Kidnapped Corper

The search for a kidnapped member of the National Youth Service Corps, Uchenna Abueme, who allegedly escaped from his abductors, has intensified in Delta State.

Abueme, our correspondent learnt, was forcibly taken away three days ago while driving on Ekeobi Nwandu Street in Asaba.

One Chris Chinonso, said to be the salesboy of Abueme’s father was also seized from the car which is said to belong to the corper’s father.

Following the kidnapping, which took place on Friday around 7.30pm, the police were said to have begun a manhunt for the two victims.

The three-man armed gang was said to have taken their victims to their hideout in Okpanam, Asaba where they were already demanding an unspecified amount of money.

However, men of the ‘A’ division in Asaba were already closing in on the kidnappers, when they sighted the police and fled.

Unaware that the police were in the surrounding to rescue them, Abueme and Chinonso immediately fled into a nearby bush where they reportedly lost their way.

As at 4.15pm on Sunday, a search party had been dispatched to help locate the corps member, while Chinonso had found his way out of the bush.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the incident, said the police had been searching the bushes in the town in their effort to rescue the corps member.

A Plateau State House of Assembly member representing Barkin Ladi constituency, Gyang Fulani, confirmed the attack on telephone. He disclosed that the Fulani men stormed the six villages in Gashish district in large number in the early hours of Saturday morning and were shooting sporadically. According to him, many people were killed while others were injured. He said many houses were also burnt by the attackers.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abu Emmanuel, also confirmed to Sunday Sun that there were attacks in some villages, but he could not give exact casualty figure as he was in one of the villages attacked trying to calm down restive youths bent on going for reprisal attack in villages where the Fulanis reside.
He said normalcy has been partially restored in some of the villages. Hundreds of persons have died in the incessant clash between Fulanis and Beroms in Barkin Ladi and Riyom local government areas in Plateau State

Speaking on the occasion, she expressed the desire of her government to help stem the crisis in Northern Nigeria by building the skills of local security agencies, especially in forensic investigation and how to defend the citizenry from terror attacks.
Though she did not give details and the form the assistance would look like, she however said that her home government was unhappy with the level of senseless killings in parts of the country, particularly the north, where she said Nigeria witnessed more violent crimes.
Expressing serious worry with the development, Bonivers said, she would personally do all within her capacity to bring in other forms of assistance to the police, NSCDC and other Para-military agencies , stressing that effective policing remains one of the core ingredients of democracy.
The Italian minister who however stated that the solution to the Boko Haram attacks in Northern Nigeria would include addressing the security and socio-economic problems in the area, commended the steps so far taken by Nigeria Government, in a bid to combat the menace.

Lagos- A 34-year-old nurse on Friday leapt for joy when an Oshodi Customary Court in Lagos dissolved the five-year-old marriage to her husband who allegedly planted “magun’’ on her.
The petitioner, Mrs Taiwo Akinode, who resides at 58, Mafoluku Road, Oshodi, Lagos openly expressed her joy and gratitude over the judgment, saying, “thank God, I am free from this juju man.“
“My husband had planted `magun’ on me because he does not trust me, he thinks am promiscuous.
“I almost lost my life before my relations came to the rescue and it was discovered that he was the culprit.
“He does not have respect for my mother, whenever she tries to intervene in our disagreement, he will extend the beating to my mother,” she said.
She accused her husband of adultery, saying that he slept around with different women.
She also alleged that Akinode was irresponsible, adding that he threatened her life with `juju` because he was an “Ifa’’ worshipper.
“I do not blame him because I moved in with him following a prophecy from my pastor that he is my rightful husband. He did not marry me properly.
“He is very fetish, he has been threatening me and my mother and I cannot take it anymore, that is why I filed the divorce,’’ she told the court.
The respondent, Toyin Akinode, a 37-year-old mechanic did not deny the allegations, saying that he was also fed up with the marriage.
“My wife is very stubborn and promiscuous and her mother will always support her whenever I report my wife to her.
“She was aware that I am an “Ifa’’ worshipper before I married her five-years ago, now she wants a divorce over my religious background,“ Akinode said.
He, however, urged the court to proceed with the dissolution of their marriage.
Akinode also promised the court that he would pay the maintenance fee and would prefer to visit his children at school in order to avoid any trouble with his former wife.
The court president, Mrs R.I. Adetola pronounced the dissolution of the marriage.
“I hereby dissolve the marriage between Toyin and Taiwo, since both parties are tired of the marriage and both consented to the dissolution.
“The two children of the marriage should be in the custody of their mother since they are still very young. Any aggrieved party can appeal against the judgment within the next 30 days,“ Adetola said.
She ordered that the respondent pay the sum of N4, 000 monthly to the court registrar for his children`s maintenance.

Following the partial closure of the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge to give room for its anticipated repair, traffic congestion yesterday piled up on Ikorodu road , one of the routes billed to act as alternative route to the Lagos Island.
It was revealed that there was traffic snarl up on Ikorodu Road-Western Avenue-Lagos Island route the Ikorodu Road-Yaba- Oyingbo-Iddo-Lagos Island alternative routes fuelling the fear that today’s traffic may be worse as more people hits the roads to the Island.
As a mark for full preparation for repair work, the contractors have moved their materials and equipment to site for full commencement of work.
Allaying  the fears of motorists and commuters, the State Commissioner for Transportation, Comrade Kayode Opeifa, assured Lagosians of free vehicular movement, adding that the officials of the State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) had strategized traffic control measures that would ease vehicular movement on the bridge and alternative routes.
Opeifa maintained that the pains which Lagosians would experience during this period will be very minimal compared to that of 2008 when the same Bridge underwent repairs ,adding that  many alternative routes to the Bridge that were not in good shape some years back had been constructed, with several others rehabilitated with the help of the State Public Works Corporation.
“This is not new. We have done it before in 2008, but now it will be better because the options are better with the construction of the other routes. The options are better as long as we drive safely and drive according to instructions,” he added.
He urged motorists plying this route to always stay tuned to the Traffic Radio for timely update of traffic reports on and around the Third Mainland Bridge, emphasizing that the transportation that LASTMA officials and Police officers would be stationed at every point of diversion and interchange for adequate traffic control.

reporter confirmed the
story.
Sources revealed that
Anyanwu, on June 15,
2012, hacked the boy
down with a machete
on their road to the
farm and buried him in
a shallow grave in the
forest.
The source noted that
Anyanwu had, prior to
the incident, confided in
the boy that he was
going to kill his mother
within the week for
undisclosed offences.
Robert warned the boy
against revealing the
information to anybody,
especially his mother.
But the boy out of fear
of being made
motherless by his step-
father revealed the
secret to his mother in a
closed door, unaware
that his step-father was
eavesdropping on
them.
A source reported that,
" after the little boy had
let the cat out of the
bag, Anyanwu chased
his wife away from the
compound and then
asked the boy and his
younger sister
(Anyanwu 's biological
child) to accompany
him to the farm".
It was gathered that on
their way to the farm,
Robert raised his
machete and hacked
down Master Chigozie.
Thereafter, he carried
the boy's lifeless body
into the forest as the
little girl ran into the
bush petrified and was
only able to trace her
path to their house the
next day.

who alerted neighbours

INSPIRATIONAL STORY: A DOG AND A WOMAN!

A dog was so faithful that the woman could
leave her baby with it & go out to attend other
matters. She always returned to find the child
soundly asleep with d dog faithfully watching
over him.

One day something tragic happened. The woman
as usual, left the baby in the "hands" of this
faithful dog & went out shopping. When she
returned, she discovered rather a nasty scene,

USE ETISALAT BLACKBERRY BIS TO CONNECT TO INTERNET ON PC WITHOUT ULTRASURF

I ve been getting a lot of messages from Gurusian asking me how they can use their etisalat BlackBerry BIS to connect to the internet on their PCs. I ve not been able to give a definite answer all these while because I havent tried it then. Now I have tried and use it myself.

Using your etisalat BIS on PC involves the following steps: Tools needed:
>etisalat SIM
>GPRS enabled phone
>An Internet Modem
>Personal Computer
>Your Brain



1. Get an etisalat SIM and activate it for Data. A SIM should normally be automatically activated for internet immediately you insert into your phone and on it. If after some period you still dont get the setting sent to you. Push etisalat Data Settings to your Phone. If you already have a SIM you have been using to browse, you dont need this step. Just proceed to step two.

2. Now that your SIM is internet ready, load a recharge card of N100 to your phone and subscribe to etisalat daily Blackberry voice plan. You can use the weekly or monthly plan. I just want to test with this first. You can subscribe to etisalat daily Blackberry voice plan by dialing *449*3*2# with N100 on your phone. You can use any phone to subscribe. It doesnt have to be a Blackberry.
Wait till you get a etisalat SMS that your subscription is successful.

3. Remove the etisalat SIM and insert into you Internet Modem. Connect your modem to your PC and create a new settings profile on your modem with the following information:
Profile name: GURUSLOADED (You can use anything)
APN: blackberry.net ID/Username: leave empty Password: leave empty

Advanced Settings: Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4

Save, select as the Default Setting and Connect to the Internet.

4. Now open your browser and use the following IP and Port: IP: 10.71.170.5
PORT: 8080 Save it and you are almost done.

Now type www.gurusloaded.com in the address and launch it. What do you see? Its working! Lol You can now visit any website of your choice and download as you want but dont forget to drop you testimony here first that its working for you!

Graduate Commits Suicide Over Girlfriend

For the family and friends of a young man identified as Chijioke who lived of 98 Abel Jumbo Street, in Mile Two, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, June 24, will forever be remembered as a Black Sunday. While the young man’s family members are wallowing in mourning, neighbours and acquaintance too are still reeling from shock over his sudden death. The question everyone is asking is: Why would a young, able-bodied graduate choose to take his own life on account of a woman?

The person in question, Chijioke, age 23, a native of Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, and the son of a female Chief Matron with the Rivers State Health Management Board, allegedly committed suicide at his residence two hours after he was granted bail by the Diobu Police Station after he was arrested and detained for harassing his girlfriend.

According to witnesses, on Saturday, June 23, the late young man and his girlfriend had a misunderstanding which prompted the young lady to have him arrested by the police on allegations of constant harassment and threat to her life. According to reports, the lady in question (name withheld) decided to arrest the deceased when he insisted that their relationship (which she was no longer interested in) must continue. Before the deceased was released from police cell, he was made to sign an undertaking that he would neither hurt the lady again nor go close to her. Thereafter, he left the police station in fury.

Relatives of the deceased who were at the scene of the crime refused to offer any comment, but few neighbors who spoke on the condition of anonymity confirmed that the late lover was discovered dead when a friend came to visit him. According to them, the visitor alarm drew the attention of neighbours and passers-by to the shocking sight inside his room.

Regarding the reason behind the late Chijioke’s fatal action, an insider affirmed that the general consensus was that his rash action that culminated in his premature death was due to his girlfriend’s refusal to continue with the relationship, a decision believed to have been informed by his constant beating and manhandling of the girl. Another source claimed that the deceased, a former student of Marine Engineering Department of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, had been dating the girl since when he was in the university.

Meanwhile, elders from Isiokpo, the deceased’s hometown, had been deliberating on the matter. Relatives are in dilemma as there are rumours that the remains of the deceased may be thrown into evil forest in accordance with the Ikwerre custom as it relates to suicides. In the meantime, the case had been reported to the Azikiwe Police Station for further investigations.

How to use the Google calculatorbr />
Google’s calculator tries to understand the problem you are attempting to solve without requiring you to use special syntax. However, it may be helpful to know the most direct way to pose a question to get the best results. Most operators come between the two numbers they combine, such as the plus sign in the expression 1+1.
